I AM EnougH

How many of us feel inferior, unworthy and insignificant?

How do we navigate our feelings while dealing with the nuisances life throws at us in our relationships, academic pursuits and work environments?

How do we move beyond our low threshold of self love that demands we question our value?

Anna Marie Quindlen, author, journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner agrees that we do not have to fall into the trap -- the revolving door of feelings of insecurity and mediocrity. It's time we tire of logging around negativity towards ourselves and proclaim, WE ARE ENOUGH.

After all those years as a woman hearing ‘not thin enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough, not this enough, not that enough,’ almost overnight I woke up one morning and thought, ‘I’m enough.
— Anna Quindlen

Take this challenge with me; let's counter every self deprecating thought with three simple words, until we mean it and believe it, I AM ENOUGH. This is one situation where I am advocating for a little self-brainwashing therapy. We deserve to start each day with squared shoulders, lifted chins and complete confidence.

How do you confront your negative feelings?

This post is part of my Created to Love initiative: a love campaign dedicated to promoting love for one's self and comradery among women.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Welcome to my blog: Paint, Patterns & Pretty Things

Hello

I am Kirby-JC,  founder of ikamCreate and the creative mind behind this whimsical blog. Welcome to Paint, Patterns & Pretty Things, the inspiration journal of a blossoming creative.

Are you a creative?

Of course you are! In 5 Myths About Creativity We Should All Stop Believing, Kate (Food and Health Editor at The Huffington Post) said it best, "Contrary to popular belief, no one is born without a creative bone in his or her body, and not all creative types are starving artists." So yes, you are a creative and, yes, this blog is for you.

What should you expect?

In Paint, Patterns & Pretty Things, I will explore different types of creativity from art and photography to interior and fashion. I will feature specially-selected handmade treasures, and you'll have the chance to get up-close and personal with artisans near you! But that's not all! Be on the look out for your weekly fix of health-living tidbits, positive-thinking inspiration, creative hacks and my day-to-day fabulous discoveries as I navigate the world... one blossoming creative on a mission.

You're intrigued, so now what?
